Product Overview

It features a simple structure, high strength, and easy maintenance, making it suitable for applications with small deflection angles, such as single-rope winding hoisting or shaft-sinking suspension.

 

Purpose

It is commonly used in hoisting systems for various vertical and inclined shafts, particularly in main‑shaft and auxiliary‑shaft hoisting as well as in temporary suspension systems during shaft‑driving operations. Because it does not require the head sheave to move laterally along its axis, it is especially well suited to applications where the wire rope must be wound onto the drum without significant angular deviation or where precise alignment is critical—such as when paired with a single‑rope winding hoist.

 

Features

Power Transmission and Guidance: As the hoist drum rotates to wind or unwind the wire rope, the rope emerges from the drum and first contacts and engages with the groove of the head sheave, thereby preparing for the subsequent redirection.

Friction-driven rotation: Since the crown block shaft is fixed to the derrick and remains stationary, friction between the wire rope and the groove of the sheave’s rim generates a torque that causes the rim to rotate about the fixed bearing housing, thereby converting the linear motion of the wire rope into rotational motion of the crown block.

Suspension and hoisting containers: After changing direction, the wire rope runs downward through the head sheave, serving to suspend and hoist various containers within the shaft, such as cage cars, skip buckets, or bucket elevators.

Performance Features and Key Advantages: Robust construction, heavy‑load durability, and exceptional resistance to fatigue and deformation, making it well suited for long‑term, high‑frequency operations under heavy loads, thereby ensuring stable and reliable system performance.
