Product Use
This product is designed and manufactured in accordance with the industry standard AQ1035-2007 “Safety Inspection Specifications for Single-Rope Winding Mine Hoists Used in Coal Mines” issued by the People’s Republic of China, GB20961-2007 “Single-Rope Winding Mine Hoists,” and the company’s enterprise standard Q/HBSHM003-2016 “Single-Rope Winding Mine Hoists.” It is suitable for lifting and lowering materials or personnel in inclined roadways and shafts—both aboveground and underground—in coal mines, metal mines, and non-metallic mines.
Mine hoist main shaft assembly
The main shaft assembly of this hoist consists of components such as a fixed drum, a movable drum (used only in dual-drum hoists), the main shaft, two bearing housings, and a rope-adjusting mechanism (used only in dual-drum hoists). These components are designed to wind or release the steel wire rope. In single-drum hoists, the steel wire rope exits from the top; in dual-drum hoists, the movable drum has the rope exiting from the bottom, while the fixed drum has the rope exiting from the top. The drums are fitted with lining wood.
The drum of the hoist is designed according to the latest theory of elasticity, and Q345A high-strength low-alloy steel is selected as the material for the drum shell. It is available in two types: fully welded and partially bolted. For ease of maintenance or replacement during operation, it can also be made in a split design.
The two ends of the main shaft are equipped with adjustable, double-row roller bearings, which offer high efficiency and facilitate easy disassembly and maintenance. As a result, this series of mine hoists features fully rolling transmission for all rotating components, achieving an overall machine efficiency of over 90% and qualifying it as an energy-saving mine hoist.
The direction of wire rope exit from the drum: For single-drum hoists, the wire rope should exit from the top—this is determined based on ergonomic considerations. For double-drum hoists, the moving drum (i.e., the drum on the operator’s actual left side) should have the wire rope exiting from the bottom, while the fixed drum (i.e., the drum on the operator’s right side) should have the wire rope exiting from the top. Both sides of the fixed drum on a double-drum hoist are equipped with wire rope exit ports. When the number of wire rope layers wound on the hoist drum is even—whether it’s just one layer or two or more—both the wire rope on the fixed drum and that on the moving drum must exit from the same side, namely the left side (with only the left-side exit port provided on the moving drum). The purpose of this arrangement is to prevent the wire ropes on the two drums from concentrating at the central part of the main shaft during the lifting process, particularly when the containers are approaching each other. Such concentration of forces at the middle section of the main shaft would lead to increased stress concentrations, effectively weakening the shaft’s strength and reducing its safety factor accordingly.
During multi-layer winding and lifting operations, to prevent rope entanglement or severe rope biting when transitioning from the lower layer to the upper layer and thereby extending the service life of the wire rope, it is mandatory to install additional transition blocks at the rope-stop plates. This requirement is currently stipulated in the "Coal Mine Safety Regulations." The transition blocks can be made of hard wood or cast steel; they may be custom-made and installed according to specific conditions (such as rope diameter and the required arc length of the transition block). Alternatively, during contract negotiations, it can be specified that the manufacturer will design, fabricate, and install these transition blocks.
Working principle
The product consists of a power system, a transmission system, a working system, a braking system, a control and operating system, an indication and protection system, and their associated components. Powered by an electric motor, the product features an efficient transmission and working system composed of a gearbox and a main shaft assembly. A hydraulic station and brake assembly form the product’s reliable braking system; an operator’s console and electrical control equipment constitute the product’s comprehensive control and operating system; and a depth indicator, encoder assembly, and other components make up the product’s sophisticated indication and protection system.
Technical Features
(1) Uses a rear-mounted disc brake with an oil cylinder, featuring electro-hydraulic combined control.
(2) Use a hydraulic axial or radial tooth-block type rope-adjusting clutch for accurate and rapid rope adjustment.
(3) The electrical control system can employ PLC programming or PLC-controlled variable-frequency drive control.

Process flow
Plastic liners have the following characteristics compared to wooden liners:
1. Long service life—testing and years of field use have shown that its service life is 5 to 10 times longer than that of wooden liners.
2. It features a high contact pressure, eliminating issues such as liner breakage and rope groove flattening.
3. It exhibits excellent resistance to cracking and moisture, making it particularly well-suited for use in harsh environments such as mine shafts with excessive water leakage and high corrosivity.
4. It is lightweight and non-absorbent, with a specific gravity of 0.98 g/cm³. Therefore, it is lighter than the wood lining after it has absorbed water, and will not increase the rotational inertia of the equipment. Consequently, it will not affect the power rating of the motor originally fitted to the equipment.
5. The molded surface is smooth, and the radius of the plastic lining’s bottom surface is identical to that of the outer arc of the winding drum. The plastic lining is already equipped with precisely dimensioned rope grooves, making installation both convenient and time- and labor-saving for users. The steel cables are neatly arranged, eliminating issues such as “cable biting” or “cable jumping.” This significantly extends the service life of the steel cables.
