The JZ series shaft sinking winches are specialized equipment used in vertical shaft excavation projects in the mining industry, commonly referred to as “stabilizing winches.” This series of winches is primarily employed during the excavation of vertical shafts in coal mines, metallic mines, and non-metallic mines to suspend and support various tunneling equipment, such as hoisting cages, water pumps, ventilation ducts, and grouting pipes. They also serve to tension and stabilize the hoisting ropes. Additionally, these winches can be used to replace tail ropes connecting the hoisting cage compartments or as surface‑mounted lifting devices.
Structural Features and Operating Principle
The JZ series shaft‑sinking winches are manufactured in strict compliance with standards such as AQ 1031‑2007, “Safety Inspection Specification for Shaft‑Sinking Winches Used in Coal Mines,” and GB/T 15112‑2007, “Shaft‑Sinking Winches.” The products feature a winding‑type design, with key components including the main shaft assembly, reducer, service brake, and safety brake. The main shaft assembly employs a gear‑driven drum to achieve an overhead rope‑out configuration, while the reducer can be either a cylindrical‑gear or planetary‑gear type. The JZ single‑drum shaft‑sinking winch is a single‑drum, winding‑type unit; it is driven by an electric motor through a coupling, reducer, and gear transmission to rotate the drum, offering a compact structure and high transmission efficiency. The double‑drum model utilizes a differential system to synchronize operation, enabling simultaneous dual‑rope suspension and ensuring stable, vibration‑free hoisting of suspended equipment.
Technical Parameters and Product Specifications

Featuring such characteristics, the main models range from JZ‑5/400 to JZ‑25/1300, with maximum static wire rope tension ranging from 50 kN to 250 kN (approximately 5 to 25 tons) and rope capacity from 400 meters to 1,300 meters. Taking the JZ‑25/1300 as an example, it delivers a maximum static tension of 250 kN (about 25 tons) and a rope capacity of 1,300 meters, fully meeting the requirements of shaft sinking operations in kilometer‑deep wells.
The JZP series employs disc brakes and a variable-frequency drive, ensuring smoother and safer operation, enabling stepless speed regulation, and delivering higher control accuracy. The product can be configured with explosion-proof electrical equipment or a variable-frequency drive–based electrical control system to meet customer requirements, making it suitable for underground environments with explosion‑proof standards or specific operating conditions.
